"We need smarter systems that do more than just deliver electricity," said Ali Khan of Vestel, speaking at the London EV Show

Khan, who is head of EVC sales & business development UK at the EV charging and battery technology company, said in the presentation at the London EV Show that the migration is not just about EVs but future-proofing the infrastructure.

He highlighted four areas of focus in terms of infrastructure: increased grid capacity, decentralised energy generation, load balancing and optimised charging schedules.

Commenting on load balancing Khan said: "We need smarter systems that do more than just deliver electricity.

"Electrical upgrades will also be needed for higher-powered chargers and this will require grid enhancements and future proofing of charging networks. We need to do this together as an industry."
