Chinese EV maker and battery technology company BYD has announced new technology that it says will enable its latest EVs to be charged with up to 400km of range in only five minutes.

Netherlands-based LeydenJar has successfully developed and produced lithium-ion batteries with a 100% silicon anode capable of delivering 500 charge-discharge cycles without requiring any external pressure, overcoming one of the key limitations of next-generation anodes.
